This walk is essentially a circuit of Caban Coch Reservoir in the Elan Valley. Starting at the visitors' centre, the walk climbs above Caban Coch Dam to skirt Craig Cnwch and Gro Hill before crossing the river at the end of the reservoir and returning via forest tracks.
