This was something of an unplanned walk. I began by exploring the market town of Bridgwater before heading on to the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal. After a few enjoyable miles on the canal it occurred to me that I could just keep going all the way to Taunton and return by train, so that is just what I did.
It was a beautiful late spring day, I had my Nikon 35mm film camera with me and spotted a perfect canal side lunch stop (Maunsel Lock Tea Rooms) on the map which made for a perfect half way break. The walk was just over 26km in total and I was worn out by the end, so was pretty happy to find a train ready at Taunton Station to talk me back to Bridgwater in air-conditioned comfort!
